2005-08-15 Add the Morgan Stanley Dean Witter license used by p5-Date-Business.
1
2 This License Agreement states the conditions under which a Package may
3 be copied, such that the Copyright Holder maintains some semblance of
4 artistic control over the development of the package, while giving the
5 users of the package the right to use and distribute the Package in a
6 more-or-less customary fashion, plus the right to make reasonable
7 modifications.
8
9 Definitions:
10
11 "Package" refers to the collection of files distributed by the
12 Copyright Holder, and derivatives of that collection of files
13 created through textual modification.
14
15 "Standard Version" refers to such a Package if it has not been
16 modified, or has been modified in accordance with the wishes
17 of the Copyright Holder as specified below.
18
19 "Copyright Holder" is whoever is named in the copyright or
20 copyrights for the package.
21
22 "You" is you, if you're thinking about copying or distributing
23 this Package.
24
25 "Reasonable copying fee" is whatever you can justify on the
26 basis of media cost, duplication charges, time of people
27 involved, and so on. (You will not be required to justify it
28 to the Copyright Holder, but only to the computing community
29 at large as a market that must bear the fee.)
30
31 "Freely Available" means that no fee is charged for the item
32 itself, though there may be fees involved in handling the
33 item. It also means that recipients of the item may
34 redistribute it under the same conditions they received it.
35
36 1. You may make and give away verbatim copies of the source form of
37 the Standard Version of this Package without restriction, provided
38 that you duplicate all of the original copyright notices and
39 associated disclaimers.
40
41 2. You may apply bug fixes, portability fixes and other modifications
42 derived from the Public Domain or from the Copyright Holder. A
43 Package modified in such a way shall still be considered the
44 Standard Version.
45
46 3. You may otherwise modify your copy of this Package in any way,
47 provided that you insert a prominent notice in each changed file
48 stating how and when you changed that file, and provided that you
49 do at least ONE of the following:
50
51 a) place your modifications in the Public Domain or otherwise make
52 them Freely Available, such as by posting said modifications to
53 Usenet or an equivalent medium, or placing the modifications on
54 a major archive site such as uunet.uu.net, or by allowing the
55 Copyright Holder to include your modifications in the Standard
56 Version of the Package.
57
58 b) use the modified Package only within your corporation or
59 organization.
60
61 c) rename any non-standard executables so the names do not conflict
62 with standard executables, which must also be provided, and
63 provide a separate manual page for each non-standard executable
64 that clearly documents how it differs from the Standard Version.
65
66 d) make other distribution arrangements with the Copyright Holder.
67
68 4. You may distribute the programs of this Package in object code
69 or.executable form, provided that you do at least ONE of the
70 following:
71
72 a) distribute a Standard Version of the executables and library
73 files, together with instructions (in the manual page or
74 equivalent) on where to get the Standard Version.
75
76 b) accompany the distribution with the machine-readable source of
77 the Package with your modifications.
78
79 c) give non-standard executables non-standard names, and clearly
80 document the differences in manual pages (or equivalent),
81 together with instructions on where to get the Standard Version.
82
83 d) make other distribution arrangements with the Copyright Holder.
84
85 5. You may charge a reasonable copying fee for any distribution of
86 this Package. You may charge any fee you choose for support of
87 this Package. You may not charge a fee for this Package itself.
88 However, you may distribute this Package in aggregate with other
89 (possibly commercial) programs as part of a larger (possibly
90 commercial) software distribution provided that you do not
91 advertise this Package as a product of your own. You may embed
92 this Package's interpreter within an executable of yours (by
93 linking); this shall be construed as a mere form of aggregation,
94 provided that the complete Standard Version of the interpreter is
95 so embedded.
96
97 6. The scripts and library files supplied as input to or produced as
98 output from the programs of this Package do not automatically fall
99 under the copyright of this Package, but belong to whoever
100 generated them, and may be sold commercially, and may be aggregated
101 with this Package. If such scripts or library files are aggregated
102 with this Package via the so-called "undump" or "unexec" methods of
103 producing a binary executable image, then distribution of such an
104 image shall neither be construed as a distribution of this Package
105 nor shall it fall under the restrictions of Paragraphs 3 and 4,
106 provided that you do not represent such an executable image as a
107 Standard Version of this Package.
108
109 7. C subroutines (or comparably compiled subroutines in other
110 languages) supplied by you and linked into this Package in order to
111 emulate subroutines and variables of the language defined by this
112 Package shall not be considered part of this Package, but are the
113 equivalent of input as in Paragraph 6, provided these subroutines
114 donot change the language in any way that would cause it to fail
115 the regression tests for the language.
116
117 8. Aggregation of this Package with a commercial distribution is
118 always permitted provided that the use of this Package is embedded;
119 that is, when no overt attempt is made to make this Package's
120 interfaces visible to the end user of the commercial distribution.
121 Such use shall not be construed as a distribution of this Package.
122
123 9. The name of the Copyright Holder may not be used to endorse or
124 promote products derived from this software without specific prior
125 written permission.
126
127 10. THIS PACKAGE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. NO REPRESENTATION
128 OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND IS MADE, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH
129 RESPECT TO THE PACKAGE (OR THE RESULTS TO BE OBTAINED BY THE USE
130 THEREOF), INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY AND ALL IMPLIED
131 WARRANTIES OF ORIGINALITY, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY
132 AND FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE
133 RISK OF ANY USE YOU MAY MAKE OF THE PACKAGE. IN NO EVENT SHALL
134 MORGAN STANLEY OR ANY OTHER PARTY, BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER
135 PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT
136 LIMITATION, ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS OR OTHER INCIDENTAL OR
137 CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THIS AGREEMENT OR YOUR
138 INABILITY TO USE THE PACKAGE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION,
139 EVEN IF MORGAN STANLEY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF OR OTHERWISE MIGHT HAVE
140 ANTICIPATED THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME STATES DO NOT
141 ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIABILITIES. IN SUCH
142 EVENT, MORGAN STANLEY'S MAXIMUM LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO $10
143 (TEN DOLLARS).
