The "Please use a different workspace" redirect does not take the full URL into account, at least under jupyterhub. If I access jupyterhub via an nbgitpuller link with a particular path specified, the workspace redirect ignores the path and sends me to jupyterlab opened in my home directory.

E.g., I go to the URL (from nbgitpuller in my case):

https://HOST/user/USERNAME/lab/tree/PATH/TO/SOMETHING

And the workspace prompt ends up redirecting me to:

https://HOST/user/USERNAME/lab/workspaces/WORKSPACE

Instead of:

https://HOST/user/USERNAME/lab/workspaces/WORKSPACE/tree/PATH/TO/SOMETHING

Versions:

# jupyter --version
4.4.0
# jupyterhub --version
0.9.2
# jupyter lab --version
0.34.2
