Bad requests when authenticating with OAuth 2

I'm getting broken auth handshakes dozens of times per day. Not seeing any common theme between them and the message "Token invalid or missing required scope" seems to be a red herring.

Yes. Happened 13 minutes ago, 1 hour ago, 2, hours ago, 4 hours ago, 5 hours ago...

Are you getting an error exchanging your authentication code, making a request with an oauth token, or both? And does the code/token start working after a few seconds?

Looking in to the gem I'm using, I'm getting this when trying to get the user data from twitch after the auth. It's hitting 'https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/user'.
