Improves usability, mainly of the dark theme because marking the unread
messages using just the bold typeface is not enough visible there.

With this patch the contrast in the light theme is too low for my taste.

Like, that the already read messages are not that visible, as they used to be? My view on this is that people are not interested in the messages they've already read - but of course can do the change dark-theme-only, if that's preferred?

I'm sorry, I don't think we're going to merge this one. I'd love a patch to make more of message views user configurable, but this doesn't feel right as the new hardcoded setting.
