I've always been a big fan of GIT GUIs and this one looks like it could be the best out there. The problem seems to be that you've stopped developing it (or at least you've stopped pushing commits to GitHub). If it helps jolt you to get working on this again, let it be known that I'm very interested in seeing this app get completed.

Thanks for the interest. I've indeed not been developing this for a while. The primary reasons are: the library I use for Git actions (such as commits, pushes, creating branches, etc.) called libgit2sharp (can be found on Github as well) has not been developed enough rapidly meaning that it's still missing quite a lot of functionality that I need. For example, I can't implement synchronization (push, pull, fetch) because the functionality is not there.

I'm using libgit2sharp because using Git command line isn't enough.

The other reason is the lack of time lately.

I have also been thinking of other ways to implement a GUI like this, maybe in a more cross platform way. I have thought about maybe making a web based Git GUI instead, but the primary problem has always been that there aren't good Git libraries out there to use. The best one is libgit2 which is written in C, or I could use the Git command line, but that is not flexible and is slow.

I think the project libgit2sharp is ready now! the libgit2sharp is the best git lib in .Net world. Many local client functions have already done. The official tool GitHub for Windows was driven by libgit2sharp.

Looks like Git-Gui is a great tool in new times, I'd hope you can continue to develop Git-Gui and I'd like to contribute with you.

There's a tool called www.sourcetreeapp.com. Is there a real need for Git-GUI to be completed?

SourceTree in most cases still uses git.exe (instead of for example JGit). I think continue working on Git-Gui is good idea. Kaisellgren has gave me access recently, but I still have no time to start now. But I will. I think kaisellgren can give you access too. Just ask him =)
