An option to make autologin quiet #21

@kaihendry

Hi, I'm trying to have an absolutely silent boot:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Silent_boot

However I find agetty printing with the configuration:

ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty -i -a hendry %I 38400

The following:

hostname login: hendry (automatic login)

Which is undesirable. I thought initially -n, --skip-login might help, but it doesn't after testing and looking at the source. Thanks!

Fixed by upstream commit 933956c.

   agetty --skip-login --noissue --autologin foouser

provides silent login now. Thanks.

Note that you need ~/.hushlogin or /etc/hushlogins do make login(1) silent and probably also reconfigure PAM to not print some messages (like "Last login or" so...).

Why wasn't this fix in 2.22.2 ? Thanks!

agetty not being quiet #389

@rzagabe rzagabe referenced this issue from a commit
@karelzak agetty: make --autologin useful with --skip-login (prompt)
The --autologin prints

	hostname login: username (automatic login)

message. This commit allows to suppress the message at all if
--skip-login (aka skip prompt) is specified.

It means that

	agetty --skip-login --noissue --autologin foouser

does completely silent autologin.
