can I use unlock w/o bg enabled? #401

I only want to use the unlock and wakeup etc features but do not want to enable background mode. Is this possible?
Would the following warning still apply in my use-case?

Infinite background tasks are not official supported on most mobile operation systems and thus not compliant with public store vendors. A successful submssion isn't garanteed.
