I've tried installing via Simple Installation for f4d2fbf and e3cc7ec. For both, the default indentation style ('\t') inserts on indent in *.coffee files, rather than the canonical two space indent. Syntax highlighting works.

Steps to reproduce:

  • install vim 7.3 with patches 1-35 (status of other versions unknown)
  • download the latest vim-coffee-script zip, and unzip it in ~/.vim/
  • either remove ~/.vimrc or replace it with the line "set filetype plugin indent on"
  • run vim and enter insert mode
  • strike the tab key (or alternatively type "func = (param) ->" and strike enter)
  • observe a tab character inserted, rather than two spaces

This may be a documentation issue if I'm missing something obvious.

Hi, that must be the default setting for vim. You can get a two space indent with set shiftwidth=2 (or for just coffee, au BufNewFile,BufReadPost *.coffee setlocal sw=2). I'd like to leave indent amounts up to the user like the other ftplugins do.
