On startup, MultiBit 0.4.23 on Windows 7:

Unable to load "https://multibit.org/version.txt". The error was "javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target".

This is probably similar to the issue we're experiencing with XChange #52

Yes - we are going to move away from using https for these (and similar) files and sign them using ECDSA (the same signing technique used in Bitcoin).

I'll quieten down the error message and only put it in the log files rather than on the UI

The fix for issue-121 should also fix this.
Will appear in 0.5.10
