attract tags is tag files for the AttractMode front end. It was designed because I was seeking an easy way to include my entire romset and extras while only showing certain games. The tag system is a great way to acomplish this, and even easier with some prebuilt tags! Tags follow the MAME rom naming scheme.
- AttractMode version 1.3 or greater.
Tag files should be placed in the following path:
- attract/romlists/romlist/
partials from attract.cfg
version: 0.203
chd tag list includes all arcade roms that use chd's. Consoles that use chd's, use all chd's and do not need the seperation.

nofiller includes the best arcade games MAME has to offer. It is split into two lists as some four player games offer a board dedicated specifically for two player cabinets, such as Sunset Riders. Use nofiller2p list for one and two player cabinets, and nofiller4p list for four player cabinets. You can change the button count or rotation appropriately to match your cabinet.

There is currently a bug in attractmode where filtering by button count does not work due to a change in mame.xml format. It may or may not work for you. I resolved the issue and sent a pull request. Edit: Pull request has been accepted and made it into AttractMode version 2.4
The nofiller tag file was created based on the byoac forum topic All Killer, No Filler MAME Gamelists Directory created by BadMouth and aided by the community.
Certain items were removed from list, such as:
- bios
- chd
- 49-way
- dual or triple screen
- speed hacks
If I happened to miss removing roms that meet the criteria from the list above, please issue a pull request or let me know so I can remove it.
Some games have variants that work better for 2 or 4 player machines. Due to this, the list was split into two different files to make it easier.
You can create a seperate tag list to include chd based games, or anything I removed that you must have. Add this seperate tag list in with your filters.
