as mentioned here, v1.4 is yet another "major" update! i didn't expect this version will be up before December starts, but here we are with another release note

these features may work or may not work. they might be removed in the future or kept forever.

• Transcoding support with a max bitrate option (Navidrome native. the output is mp3 btw)
• Toggleable translucent background (in case you prefer a solid color)
• Save login info (remember that "Your Navidrome session may have expired. The quickest action you can take is to log back in — for now." until recently? this feature could solve the issue)

Misc

the UI looks more "native" than before. at least that's what i believe...

Bug Fixes

• Fixed album cover loading logic (prioritizing local first)

• Fixed unknown genre/year display (Unknown genre #25)

Regarding the v1.5

I didn't expect v1.4 to be up before December starts, so v1.5 will probably ship in late December (instead of next year, lol)

In that time frame, there will only be bug fixes for v1.4.x. No new feature are expected until v1.5 is on the App Store. The v1.5 update will mainly include non-user-facing changes; such as writing tests, making the code more modular, and other improvements like making the app more efficient (currently the CPU usage number is ~4000 mCPU and memory usage is ~80 MB based on what Xcode Debug Navigator tells me)

Also, expect the very first macOS and/or iPadOS version in early January!
