Try this example :

var snappy = require('snappy');
// Use synchronous version
snappy.compressSync('string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress,string to compress', function(err, compressed){
// result will be string instead of Buffer
snappy.decompress(compressed, function(err, result){
console.log(result && result.toString());
});
});

You could see the decompress return null. I think it might related to the same issue which was mentioned in the previous issue here.

Thanks.

Did this get solved or did you close it wrongly?

Anyway.. I'm not able to reproduce, when I run the above code I get the correct answer.
in what environment are you running this? (os, 32-/64-bit etc)

Hi!
I've try the gitfy's example and it doesn't decompress anything but it works with decompressSync

Fedora 16 64 bits / GCC 4.6.2 / Node 0.6.5 / snappy 1.2.0
