Not sure if this can be addressed in here or by the broccoli-coffee maintainers, but source maps would be a huge help

Unfortunately this will need to come from broccoli-coffee as you suggest. There's an open issue for it, but it doesn't look like anyone's actively working on it. I'm sure Jo would accept a PR though, if you feel up for it :)

That said, I'm not entirely sure it will just automatically work with ember-cli once that's implemented (it might), so I'll have a look at that once broccoli-coffee has support for it.

Thanks!

I converted my Ember app to Ember-CLI but then reverted back because of the lack of CoffeeScript source maps. I understand that this is maybe a “complain to Broccoli” issue, but is there a workaround? The issue you link to has a PR that hasn’t been merged . . . ?

Or am I missing something? How do you all work with ember-cli-coffeescript? You just code in coffee in your editors and look at JavaScript in the browser Developer Tools source tab and it doesn’t concern you?

I also miss source maps, but I just go without it.

There's been some movement in ember-cli's sourcemaps, may be relevant: ember-cli/ember-cli#2727
Personally I'd drop coffeescript rather than ember-cli, but for now I just read the js in the dev tools and it's usually straightforward seeing where it came from.

I would really love to have this, but I just don't have the capacity to look in to it properly at the moment.

I'm with @nruth here... I'm just fine using ember-cli and CoffeeScript. CS is almost a one-to-one match with JS; it's pretty easy to read JS in the Dev Tools.
Of course, sourcemaps would be even easier, but it's not a game changer for now.
