All Platforms:

  • Optimize and improve the refresh process when re-opening the app
    • Before: it would refresh all the data on the page, whenever you opened the app, regardless of if the data had changed or was new.
    • Now: it is smarter about what it refreshes and only refreshes the data that is new or has changed.

Mac Notifications:

  • Reply directly from the notification, rather than a popup window. This fixes #514 and the issues discussed there.
  • Through System Settings -> Notifications -> Pulse SMS, you can configure how Pulse's notifications work:
    • When using Alert notifications, the notifications will be sticky and remain on the screen until you dismiss them. Only one notification per conversation will be displayed at a time.
    • When using Banner notifications, then notifications will be dismissed after a few seconds and will show up in your notification center.

Hotfix for auto-updater getting into a crash cycle for MacOS.

If you are on rc3 or 1.0.0 and MacOS, there are some situations that the app will continually shut down after a few seconds of usage. If you see this happening, it is the auto-updater trying to install the update and failing. v1.0.1 will prevent that from happening for future updates.

If you see this happening, you should be able to just right click on the icon, select "quit", then re-open the app. It will have been updated to this v1.0.1 release. If that doesn't seem to work, manually downloading and installing this version will fix the issue.

Initial non-preview release!

  • Crash fixes from rc3
  • Windows: Notification improvements and fixes

If you are coming from an older version of the app, you may need to uninstall and re-install this version. Future versions of the app will automatically update.

If you are seeing the app crashing, you should uninstall the current version of the app and replace it with the 1.0.0 release.

Hopefully, this will be the final release before exiting the pre-release stage. If you are seeing crashes or bugs with the desktop version, please report them here, or via email: luke@klinkerapps.com

Windows Users

I have now signed the installer file. This means improved support for auto updates, and an improved installation process. You may need to uninstall the current version of the app before you can install this version.

Changelog

  • Re-enabled auto-update support across platforms
  • Improvements around notifications and when they should be shown
  • Open directly to the /login.html page on first install, rather than the /overview page.
  • Dependency updates
  • MacOS: improvements to the tray icon on dark themed menu bars
