There are use-cases where I would like to use icat to display an image, rather than dealing with the details of the image display protocol myself, but I do not want to nessecarily require the image to be persisted to disk. I would like icat, analogously to cat, to be able to read an image streamed from stdin.

One example use case is if I have an image at a url which I would like to display.
I can work around this by simply writing to disk before invoking icat, but it would be nice if I didn't have to.
