I use weechat. Weechat allows mouse interaction with its mouse mode which can be toggled with Alt+M (by default).

In Gnome Terminal, the cursor changes into the regular pointer in mouse mode. Outside of mouse mode, you get the usual I-beam cursor.

In Kitty, mouse mode works fine in that I can click on channels etc - but the cursor does not change from the I-beam. This is a small annoyance, since it was useful to instantly know which mode I was in
