Can ctrl-c with copy_or_interrupt have an option to deselect after copy?

I keep running into this situation:

1. select text and paste to command line and run command
2. realize I just made a mistake so panic and hit ctrl-c...it does nothing
3. click in the window somewhere to deselect
4. ctrl-c

Would be awesome if there was an option where after I hit ctrl-c to copy a selection the terminal deselected the text so ctrl-c would again send interrupt. I say optional because I know some people might be annoyed at losing the selection...

I will try to add this when I get a chance.

It looks like I can maybe make a clear_selection function in screen that jsut does:

self->is_dirty = true;
self->selection = EMPTY_SELECTION;

and then optionaly call that in window/copy_or_interrupt()

based on a new config option?
