Gnome/Wayland: Kitty window don't stay maximized with hidden window decoration #3507

Describe the bug
When using hide_window_decorations the kitty window don't stay maximized when switching desktop on Gnome/Wayland

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. set hide_window_decorations to yes
  2. maximize Kitty with the Gnome keyboard shortcut or the mouse menu
  3. switch desktop
  4. go back to the desktop where Kitty is opened
  5. the window went to back to it's previous size

Expected behavior
Kitty window should stay maximized

Environment details
OS: Arch Linux
Gnome 40 with Wayland
Kitty version: 0.20.0 and 0.20.1, in Wayland mode

Additional context
It does not happen with hide_window_decorations set to no, or in x11 mode.
