Would be nice if we could link to quality resources for getting started with Perl from the Mojolicious::Guides overview.
Maybe a little "LEARNING PERL" block between "DON'T PANIC!" and "TUTORIAL".

I agree, will look into this on friday.

Online or offline? I'm wondering what the best online resource for
learning Perl is. http://learn.perl.org/ isn't too user-friendly.

@szabgab asked if we could link to a few of the good tutorials to increase their Google rank, maybe not a bad idea.

I liked this one that judofyr linked me to - http://qntm.org/files/perl/perl.html - And it seems sensible to link to http://onyxneon.com/books/modern_perl/ as well.

Agreed on both, i keep recommending the Modern Perl book to people all the time.

I really like the 2:30 link. Consistent visual representation, straight to
the point. I support that as the primary/quick start recommendation, and
the Modern Perl book for more in depth understanding.

I'd recommend this one too: http://szabgab.com/perl_tutorial.html
I know the author :)

No offense, but I would prefer if we favored the free ones.

szabgab commented Dec 14, 2011

No offense taken. It is free.

Guess I was just confused by the missing sections and The links to http://szabgab.com/beginner-perl-maven.html

szabgab commented Dec 14, 2011

They are missing because I have not written them. I am publishing 2-4 lectures every week as I have the time to write them.

@amenonsen was a bit quick with the trigger finger there, but he has a point, linking to learn.perl.org too might be useful for finding more information.

I don't have anything against learn.perl.org, it just seems fairly chaotic,
and doesn't give the user a direction in which to go. The qntm and Modern
Perl book, on the other hand, are very clear in illustrating what to do
next.

The right links have now been added, still needs rephrasing though. 9168874
