Shift-selecting backwards does not grow the selection. The other direction (to the right) works fine.

Steps to reproduce

  • position the caret somewhere in a document
  • press Shift+Cursor Left repeatedly, or drag the mouse to the left

Observed
the caret moves to the left without a selection

Expected
the selection should grow to the left
