Two changes are included in this PR:

  • If no backend is registered to the server, and the grpc client request will hang for 30s instead of returning instantly with no backend error. This is caused by the issue that random id is not included in dia resp from server to client, thus the client does not recognize the dial resp and return, dropping the error.
  • for a normal client-server close case, close req is sent to backend twice, one as proxy from client, and the other one is as a generalized one. The latter one is not necessary, and bring misleading error message for both proxy-server and proxy-agent

Hi @mainred. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a kubernetes-sigs member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

I understand the commands that are listed here.

Sorry for the delay getting to this PR, I will spend some time this week testing this patch

klog.ErrorS(err, "CLOSE_REQ to Backend failed", "serverID", s.serverID, "connectionID", connID)
} else {
klog.V(5).Infoln("CLOSE_REQ sent to backend", "serverID", s.serverID, "connectionID", connID)

@mainred I think it might be simpler to scope this PR to only include DialResponse containing random IDs and exclude the fix for sending CLOSE_REQ twice in a separate PR. @mihivagyok also has a PR out regarding this #322

This allows the client to notice immediately, instead of timing out. I
forked this from a slightly larger

and will try to annotate PR so that mainred@'s contribution is recognized.
