exponential faders #321
Comments
i think i have found a solution that makes it possible to resolve this issue: using a linear to exp converter. If you agree that this is a good solution, you can close this issue. If there are already exp faders available within the new JavaFX ( i do not know this...), then this issue can remain opened? |
Let's leave this open for now, I can still see a reason for log/exp faders
and I think it deserves further exploration.
BTW: I don't know if you've tried:

Yesterday i made a repository where k_LogCurve can be downloaded (
https://github.com/tjingboem/UDOs)
i have attached a very simple blue file that shows the use of k_LogCurve:
logknob.blue.txt
<https://github.com/kunstmusik/blue/files/625603/logknob.blue.txt>
Please remove the extra extension .txt from the .blue file - it is only
meant for being able to attach this file.

i have tried expcurve to change the values of a slider but they do put some load on CPU, so that it is hard to run another instrument in parallel in realtime. |
I am pushing this ticket to 2.7.1 or later so that 2.7.0 can move forward as this ticket will take me some time to think through. |
make the knobs and faders use exponential values and updating the automation system and user interface
