wikED is listed among Special:Gadgets on Wikipedia, which is provided by the Gadgets extension (not enabled on ArchWiki). I don't know if User scripts are enabled on ArchWiki because of https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35545

I'm aware of that, this is not about dropping support for the current installation method :) But WM can work on any (up-to-date, not-exaggerately-customized) installation of MediaWiki, so using it as a gadget would be worth to be tested, supported and documented as well.

EDIT: Anyway I'm just making explicit that the Gadgets extension is installed also in the ArchWiki because it comes bundled with MediaWiki, it's just not enabled, as you correctly said.

Note that using WM without a browser extension would inhibit cross-domain requests.
