Could you consider tracking the official bourbon version? It's very difficult to discover what version of bourbon you are running given only the version of node-bourbon.
Tracking the bourbon version to the first three digits would make this clear. You could add a fourth digit for when the machinery around node-bourbon needs to be updated.

I'm totally for this, however I just need to verify that npm supports a 4th digit since I'm not aware of that being a part of semver. I found a couple issue threads regarding this for both semver itself and node-semver, so I'll look into the possibilities this weekend.
