Rails 4 has been released more than a year ago, Rails 3.2.x will not receive any further bug fixes. In addition we are increasingly seeing Ruby gems that have Rails 4 as a dependency in the latest versions. And Rails 4.2 comes with Active Job, a generic implementation of background workers.
