Komenco

v 1.0 | Built with Angular-cli

Komenco is the Esporanto name for start or begin. The Komenco app can be used as a browser's start page, when opening a new tab for example. Komenco includes weather information, a google search bar and the great photos from Unsplash.

The app is inspired by Momentum, but designed as a standalone website. So you can use it in every browser. Just set up the URL in the new tab configuration of your browser. In some cases a special New-Tab-Plugin is needed.

Installation

You can install Komenco locally or on a server. Clone the repository and follow the instructions on Angular-cli to run or to build the app.

API

The app uses two API services. One is Unsplash for the randomised background image and the other one is OpenWeatherMap for weather data. You will need for both services a client_id or appid, which you should set in the environment.ts (environment.prod.ts) files. Please have a look on Unsplash API and OpenWeatherMap API how to get the client_id/appid.

In a non productive use, the app takes the example data from your localhost server. In that case, just copy the three files from src/assets/example-data/ to your localhost server.

License

The app is written and designed by Kilchenmann.

The code is open source under the MIT License.
