No, the issue has not been fixed, and it still requires the community's attention.
I don't require support. I am not requesting an enhancement or feature. I want Joplin to fix a bug. The main Joplin page has no mention of the word "bug". So if you don't want to use github issues to track bugs and want bug reports to go to the discourse support forum, then I suggest that you add the words "bug reports" to the description of the purpose of the support forum to make that clear: |

Closing this issue after a prolonged period of inactivity. If this issue is still present in the latest release, feel free to create a new issue with up-to-date information. |
I installed the latest Joplin appimage both on Fedora 38 (GNOME 44) and on a Chromebook (113 and 114).
The Joplin icon is seen on Fedora, but not on the Chromebook.
I noticed the same issue with the icon in this youtube video on "How to install Joplin on a Chromebook":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K93BO-nXB4&lc=Ugxq3B5HjpIo8y_3p-d4AaABAg.9saoTQa8mgY9sasx65d5Vm
Environment
Joplin version: 2.11.11
Platform: Chromebook
OS specifics: 114.0.5735.143
Steps to reproduce
Describe what you expected to happen
I expect to see the Joplin "White J on blue background" icon. Instead I get a default penguin icon:
Logfile
I reran the installation with "--force | bash -x" and verified that everything ran without errors, and it ran the 2 update-desktop-database commands against ~/.local/share/applications and ~/local/share/icons.
I noticed that the install script installs just one icon, in .local/share/icons/hicolor/512x512/apps/joplin.png.
I check the thunderbird install (whose icon was working) and it installs 8 icon files.
So as a test, I installed a couple of other Joplin icons:
.local/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps/joplin.png
.local/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/joplin.png
and now the Joplin icon is visible on the chromebook:
It would be great if you could install more icons with the Joplin_install_and_update.sh script, at least on chromebooks, but it probably couldn't hurt on an Linux distro.
