Looks like this PR broke updating 1829286

When trying to update from the lbrynet daemon:

File "testpub.py", line 9, in
'title':'test','description':'test','author':'test','language':'en','nsfw':False,'license':'test',}
File "build/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/jsonrpc/proxy.py", line 180, in call
File "build/bdist.linux-x86_64/egg/jsonrpc/common.py", line 186, in get_result
jsonrpc.common.RPCError: {"message": "Non-hexadecimal digit found", "code": -32500}

Below is the traceback: looks like variable "val" is being decoded as hex when it shouldn't be.

traceback: File "/app/lib/python2.7/site-packages/twisted/internet/defer.py", line 1299, in _inlineCallbacks
result = g.send(result)
