Lots of new small features in this release.

Features:

  • New buttons for triggering commands. These buttons look a bit better than before.
  • When reading a dataref causes a segfault or floating point exception (common causes of crashes), we will try to report which dataref caused this in the Log.txt, with a recommendation that you add this to your blacklist file. This feature only works on Mac and Linux.
  • Title is now updated with the search term. This helps workflows where you, e.g., drag windows off the bottom of the screen.
  • Fixes a crash that occurred on windows when starting the plugin, and a window was open in an offscreen position.
  • Fix bug that prevented detection of plugin changes on Windows. This is a boost::filesystem bug.

Windows notes:

You may need the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributable to be installed. You can get it from Microsoft here.

Known issues:

Lots of new small features in this release.

Features:

  • You can now use a search term starting with a minus (-) to exclude things from your search results (except in regex mode).
  • Windows that overlap the menu bar are no longer stuck there.
  • In change detection mode, we used to hide results when they hadn't changed for a while. They now stay around forever, making it easier to observe / select / change datarefs that changed.
  • Keyboard shortcuts for opening and closing windows. Details here
  • We now show buttons for triggering each command in the search results, instead of just when a single command was selected. Unfortunately, X-Plane's default buttons are too huge to be shown in the list, so they look terrible for now.
  • The button that triggered a command (used to be labeled "Once") can now be held down to trigger a command for a longer period of time, instead of just calling XPLMCommandOnce().

Windows notes:

You may need the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributable to be installed. You can get it from Microsoft here.

Known issues:

  • Toggling case sensitivity doesn't update search results, #29

Features:

This version is all about performance, and making sure that DRT has the smallest possible impact on frame rate.

  • Multiple search windows should impact the performance of the simulator much less. Open as many as you want.
  • There's no longer a huge performance hit when a command is used every frame- there should be no performance hit, even with hundreds of commands per frame.
  • Searches that use change detection should be much faster.

Windows notes:

You'll need the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributable to be installed. You can get it from Microsoft here.

Features:

This version is primarily to address bugs in the 2017.06.14 release.

  • Impersonate mode is not on by default. (It never should have been.)
  • Impersonate mode is much faster now. With the new code, it should not be any slower than normal mode.
  • Commands are now in green.

Windows notes:

You'll need the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributable to be installed. You can get it from Microsoft here.

Known issues:

Crashes if you leave a DRT window open and reopen X-Plane.
