preparations:
mkdir ebin

run like this:

./icfp2008/linux2.6.24/server -v icfp2008/sample-maps/spiral.wrld & make run

or if you are on 64bit and ready to skip the gui:

./icfp2008/no-gui-static/server icfp2008/sample-maps/spiral.wrld & make run
