Sign upHow to Use Hypothesis
What is Hypothesis?
Hypothesis is an open platform for discussion on the web. It leverages annotation to enable sentence-level critique or note-taking on the Level Up site.
Why are we using it?
Hypothesis doesn't require any custom plugins or a server to be installed. This reduces the dependencies needed to keep the site running and dynamic. It doesn't collect data about you like Disqus.
We want to increase interaction and sharing on the site without using resources to build out functionality that might not be heavily used.
How do you use it?
-
Make an account on the Hypothesis website. All you need is an email address.
-
Log into Hypothesis on the Level Up website.
-
Start highlighting and annotating!
Check out these docs for help on how to use the tool.
Here is the workflow in images:
###Go to home page and open side panel for annotations.
###Sign in with your hypothesis username.
###Go to page where you want to comment and hightlight the text. Click on the word Annotate.
###Leave a comment with the quote in the side panel and publish publicly or privately.
###View annotations and highlights on the page. See the number on the right side, that describes the number of annotations for that text. Click on the eye symbol on the right panel to show or hide annotations.
