This entire thing is wrong.

Lakka is nothing but RetroArch with some minor patches, and RetroArch is GPLv3, not GPLv2.

Furthermore, Lakka is a Linux distribution and comes with many noncommercially licensed cores, hence it cannot be sold, so stating that the distribution is GPL licensed is completely wrong.

Your license text here would create great confusion and cause unwanted abuse by entrepreneurs who mistake GPL as a free for all letter to do whatever they want. Therefore, I am closing it.

Lakka in its public iteration/configuration will not be licensed in such a way to allow for commercial use, period. I am not taking any chances here and at no point in time do I want people to walk away with the mistaken belief that because its GPL, it is permissible to be sold, since the noncommercial cores render that impossible to do.

Dont submit this anymore.

@twinaphex I based this license text on the LibreELEC license.

I'll leave this alone but I would really like to encourage you to write out something to explain the Lakka license as a license file in its github repo even if it is what you just wrote in your comment.

Most of the operational code is LibreELEC (GPLv2) or its upstreams as mentioned in the text I adoped from LibreELEC's license. Of course the RetroArch code is what people are interested in (GPLv3) when they come for Lakka so that should be mentioned by name too.

Final thought for now. I incorrectly linked to the LibreELEC license in the PR text: https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/blob/master/README.md
