One interesting use case is that value tuples with 2 items have a memory layout that is isomorphic to KeyValuePair<T,K>, which allows me to perform an Unsafe.As() to cast between them

Ah interesting - because they share the same layout?

I didn't necessarily need it so much as it reduced code. For example, I need to create a query string on a URI. There is a QueryString class that helps with it. For example passing in a dictionary or IEnumerable to it's static method will translate that into a query string. But the source values I had were named tuples. And both have a layout where the key or first value fields are at the same offsets, and so are the value and 2nd tuple values: the 2nd field.
