Application window contents of non-active workspaces don't get updated/redrawn anymore in the expo plugin. Instead, all you're seeing is their old, static state from the time when you left the workspace.

Steps to reproduce

  • set number of workspaces to >=2
  • activate workspace 1
  • open any kind of application that redraws its window content, eg. a video player
  • switch to workspace 2
  • toggle workspace overview

Expected behaviour

Being able to see all windows from the other workspaces being redrawn on update. In context of a video player, I expect to be able to see videos playing on the other non-active workspaces.

Other information

I noticed this after upgrading to 4.0.0 a few weeks ago. It was working just fine before that.

If it's not a bug and a design decision instead, I'd say that this destroys the purpose of the workspace overview. In this case, the user should be able to decide via a settings option whether they want to be able to see the other workspaces being redrawn (at a performance cost) or not.
