Bookmarks: folder icons not present until navigating into them #177
Mint 14, Linux 3.7.0 (or 3.7.1 not sure), with latest Cinnamon (1.6.7 I think). I'm also using the Nvidia Proprietory drivers, and have a dual monitor setup, if that info is relevant. Just let me confirm whether I do indeed have the same problem - coz you see, I only ever restart/logout when my Desktop gives me problems, specifically the problem that arises occasionally when my pc is left unattended for a long time (e.g. overnight). Sometimes I find that my PC has frozen, or that my login password field is missing (although I can still type my password and login). So I can't rule out the possibility that I have a hardware or driver issue.
Okay, so I'm gonna do a quick, clean restart then check whether the problem persists. Then I'll report back.
Alright, firstly I'm using Linux 3.7.1-030701-generic. And, I've just realized/remembered something. The icons of mine that are initially incorrect, and those that belong to folders from one of my mounted hard drives. They do not belong to folders in /home nor /root. Perhaps that has something to do with it. Anyway, I created bookmarks for folders on my mounted hard drive, which I automount at system startup -- the drive is mounted in /media, by the way -- and when I initially run Nemo, the Bookmarks, EXCLUDING the one for /Downloads in /home, all have the default folder icon.
So, somehow the bookmark icons for folders on the /root and /home partitions get displayed correctly when Nemo is opened for the first time, while bookmark icons for folders on my mounted drive are incorrect. I would hazard a guess that if you created a bookmark for a folder on a usb flash drive, then the same thing would happen when you restart.
My problem might be different from rjanja though, but the symptoms appear to be the same.
