  1. mark these strings as raw. 

    A lot of these strings contain backslashes, which are there to tell
regex, or bash, to escape things, not to tell python to escape things.
We should mark this explicitly so python doesn't get confused.

>>> print 'hello\nworld'
hello
world
>>> print r'hello\nworld'
hello\nworld
