A lot of features and bugfixes have accumulated since the release of flameshot 0.5.1, including

  • Desktop file merging and adaptation of single desktop file
  • HiDPI icon size fixes
  • New tool: text tool
  • New tool: pin tool
  • Initial sidebar with color selector
  • Operation history view and manipulation (in sidebar)
  • Translation into various languages
  • Icon vectorization and icon path fixes
  • Various other bug fixes

That's really a large bunch of new features and improvements.

@lupoDharkael , could you please consider making a release recently? A simple new tag would be enough, though you might want to make version bumps or prebuilt binaries in advance.

I am aware that the next version is supposed to be 0.6.0 according to the roadmap. However, that roadmap hasn't been updated for several months, currently outdated and is subject to shift. Besides, we currently hasn't reach the 0.6 goal as written in the roadmap.

Maybe another version should be released before 0.6.0 or maybe not, it's just my suggestion.

👍

With 20+ issues related to Text annotation alone ... seems a bump in version to get new features into common software repos and would help reduce duplicates in issue queue.

@ZetaoYang the roadmap is outdated but it's still there because it's orientative about the features that will come to Flameshot.
Here is the new tag with the changelog. I'll add the packages tomorrow because I'm not at home and I have to use my phone's internet to do this.
