Can you try building with Interkarma/daggerfall-unity#2336 and see if that solves the issue?

Yes, that does seem to fix the issue, I tried running the project with a locally built project with that change and it worked. I'm unclear on Unity licensing, so I won't be planning on providing a build myself, so will need to wait for the official build to come out.

The first launch requires some interaction, as the steam version is not up to date with the latest official patches. I have the launch sequence setup to run the patch exe with dosbox-staging, and then all you have to do is answer Y on a few prompts, and then it'll close that once finished and launches the game. This should make it easier than having to do that by hand. I do that in a copied directory, so that you can run the steam original game inside dosbox-staging if you wanted.

I haven't tested it much yet, just getting into the menu, but it actually detects the game files now.
