Getting started

Cloud 9 Prep

Some extra steps to get setup in a fresh Cloud 9 workspace

Install necessary packages

rvm install 2.3.0
gem install rails -v 5.1.2

Heroku

Log in to Heroku

$ heroku login
Enter your Heroku credentials:
Email: matt@hoover.ml
Password: ************
Logged in as matt@hoover.ml

Add existing Heroku remote to git config

Remaining config

To get started with the app, clone the repo and then install the needed gems:

$ bundle install --without production

Next, migrate the database:

$ rails db:migrate

Finally, run the test suite to verify that everything is working correctly:

$ rails test

If the test suite passes, you'll be ready to run the app in a local server:

$ rails server
