Is this issue meant to address the 90mA vs 10mA power draw problem of Leste or only for WiFi power saving?

Good question/point. This one is specifically for power saving in wireless, not the general power draw.

Wifi power saving mode seems to be on by default.. as evidenced by ping times > 50msec.

apt-get install iw
iw dev wlan0 set power_save off

gets ping time to pretty constant 7msec. (That is a little high...?)

iw dev wlan0 set power_save on

gets ping times back into > 50 msec range. This one seems to be working as intended.

Thank you - I didn't know how to use/set the power saving, and I need to integrate it in the wireless plugin. There's a gconf key to turn on/off power saving per network. That's what this ticket is for.
