Currently, all stores are placed in the Library folder by default. In some cases, these stores may be user transferable at the least, and perhaps should be stored in the Documents folder when specified. All stores should still go to the Library by default.

I gave this a shot and implemented it in my MR fork based on the current master branch. Do you want me to make a pull request?

Just curious as to why you need to disable wal journaling? Also, have a look in the experimental branch. I have some similar store by URL stuff there. Let me know what you thing. I we'll work on getting some of these methods moved into master sometime soon.

It's because when WAL is enabled, a separate WAL file is created upon
initialization. For backup purposes my App continuously sends the sqlite
file to a server and relies on the original filename. But when using WAL,
the file that has the original filename won't include the most recent data.

2 years later… MagicalRecord 3.0 will support specifying an NSURL file URL or a NSString path when setting up SQLiteMagicalRecordStack. You can see this work in the release/3.0 branch.
