magit branch buffer, if I try to create a branch using b c option magit is creating a new branch on top of current branch irrespective of parent option that is given.

Its also worth note that, when I call magit-create-branch interactively creating branch works as it supposed to be.

I cannot reproduce the issue.

What are you calling the current branch? The branch at point or the branch currently checked-out?

@dudebout I meant the branch currently checked out.

It works fine for me. Please detail the interaction to give a clue at where the problem lies.
Also try it in an emacs without your configuration emacs -Q

got it. its some thing to do with completing read function, (iswitchb). @dudebout could you try reproduce it?

(setq magit-completing-read-function 'magit-iswitchb-completing-read)

I changed to ido-completing-read, its working fine.

Does not cause problems with emacs -Q and the iswitchb option.
