Describe the bug
typing with the keyboard into the CDU works but then hogs the keyboard from the comm pages

To Reproduce
click comm. try type with your keyboard. Nothing shows in the scratchpad. However if you then go back to the CDU the scratchpad will contain what you typed

Expected behavior
typing should work in comm.
