Heavy Barrel, Bad Dudes, Robocop, Birdie Try & Hippodrome use the 'MEC-M1'
motherboard and varying game boards. Sly Spy, Midnight Resistance and
Boulderdash use the same graphics chips but are different pcbs.
Bandit (USA) is almost certainly a field test prototype, the software runs
on a Heavy Barrel board including the original Heavy Barrel MCU (which is effectively
not used). There is also Japanese version known to run on a DE-0321-1 top board.
There are Secret Agent (bootleg) and Robocop (bootleg) sets to add.

All games' Dip Switches (except Boulder Dash) have been verified against
Original Service Manuals and Service Mode (when available).
ToDo:
- Fix protection simulation in Birdie Try (that part needs at least comparison with a real board);
- Fix remaining graphical problems in Automat (bootleg);
- Fix remaining sound problems in Secret Agent (bootleg);
- graphics are completely broken in Secret Agent (bootleg);
- Fighting Fantasy (bootleg) doesn't move on when killing the Lamia, is the MCU involved?
- Hook up the 68705 in Midnight Resistance (bootleg) (it might not be used, leftover from the Fighting Fantasy bootleg on the same PCB?)
- Get rid of ROM patch in Hippodrome;
- background pen in Birdie Try is presumably wrong.
- Pixel clock frequency isn't verified;
- Finally, get a proper decap of the MCUs used by Dragonninja and Birdie Try;
Bad Dudes MCU dump came from an MCU that had been damaged during a misguided
attempt at decapping. Data didn't read consistently, and the final dump was
built up from multiple dumps by taking the most common value for each location.
It appears there may be one bit error in the dump. The MCU implements a
command to calculate a program ROM checksum and compare the low byte of the
result to a value supplied by the host CPU, but with the dump as-is, it doesn't
work. Here's the code in question:

The function at $0A50 reads the expected value from the host, $0A41 is the
normal command response, and $09F0 is the error response. The orl instruction
doesn't make sense here. However, changing it from 48 to 60 makes it an xrl
instruction which would work as expected.
Unfortunately the game doesn't issue this command during the attract loop or
first level, so I haven't been able to test it. I can't even use the checksum
function to verify that the program is good because the expected value mod 256
has to be supplied by the host.
The current Dragonninja MCU program was made by hacking the expected startup
synchronisation command in the Bad Dudes MCU program (location $09A4 changed
from $0B to $03). There may be other differences in a real Dragonninja MCU.
The table of expected values for command 7 is the same for Dragonninja (from
debugging main CPU program).
Bad Dudes only seems to use commands $0B (sync), $01 (reset if parameter is not
$3B), $07 (return table index if parameter matches table otherwise reset) and
$09 (set table index to zero). Dragonninja only seems to use commands $03 (on
startup), $07 (same function as Bad Dudes) and $09 (same function as Bad
Dudes). Most of the MCU program isn't utilised.

All ROMs are 27512/27256 EPROM/maskROM
All ROMs have a number location on the board next to the chip and that same number is used
as part of the ROM label. The chips can also be referenced via the numbers & letters on the
side of the board. For example EI30.30 or EI30.9J. Both of these are the same chip and the
game code identifies the game, which in this case is Bad Dudes.

Note the games can be converted by swapping all of the ROMs and MCU. For example on a Birdie Try PCB, when the
ROMs are swapped for the 'hbarrel' set from MAME, the board will run Heavy Barrel. I can confirm the MCU dump
from the 'hbarrel' MAME ROM set (HB31.9A) and 'baddudes' MAME ROM set (EI31.9A) works fine on the real PCB.

Take a look at the photos in the archive, the roms
should be failry explanatory, and you should be
able to pick out the chips it uses.
The most striking thing about this bootleg apart
from the obviously changed title screen is that
the music/melody is not right, they've copied the
digital sound effects, but appear to have ripepd
the music and circuit design from an earlier
capcom game, i can't work out whcih one, but
what an odd thing to do!

Rom 21 is full of 0's... i cleaned and re-dumped
it numerous times, but i just got 0's everytime.
It contains some of the graphics for enemies on
