INSERTing data bigger than 0xffffff via MySQL produces the following error since 2.8.0:

ERROR 1047 (08S01) at line 1: unknown command (code=99)

2.7.5 is working fine.

Changelog: fixed issue with large packet via SphinxQL interface

Could you provide your config and INSERT into index SphinxQL statement as attached file to this issue?

Sure, here you go: INSERT+Config.zip

Can be reproduced via mysql -P 9306 < HugeInsert.sql

could you check that mysql_version_string = 5.5.21 fixes issue with large packet for you?

No that doesn't change anything. This also wouldn't help with SphinxConnector.NET: I noticed this bug because I have an integration test for sending packets > 0xffffff which fails with 2.8.0 and up but works with previous versions and Sphinx.

I've just fixed issue with large packet via SphinxQL interface at
36df1a4 . You have to rebuild daemon to get issue fixed. That fix also will be released with next Manticore version.
