before 0.7.0 I plan to borrow shamelessly from some of the boost finding tricks here:

http://svn.gna.org/svn/wesnoth/trunk/scons/boost.py

The goal will be a higher probability of autodetection of custom installs of packaged or source build boost if the user does not supply the BOOST_LIBS, BOOST_INCLUDES, BOOST_VERSION, BOOST_TOOLKIT, or BOOST_ABI options.

[springmeyer] I ended up going with the simpler approach than linked above.

added in r1200 (still could use some testing)

Ideally scons should work exactly the same as previously if boost was installed in the 'default' assumed location of /usr/, while making auto-detection possible if boost is installed in /sw, /opt/local, or /usr/local. More search prefixes should be added if needed.
