MIDI Mixer One operates as a standard USB MIDI controller with knobs sending Control Change values and keys sending note on/off messages.

By default, key 1 sends all the current knob values (and no note message) to get the receiver in sync with the controller.

DIY Guide

Configuration

Use the web configuration tool to adjust MIDI channels, CCs, etc. You'll need a browser that supports WebMIDI (eg, Chrome).

Updating the Firmware

You can check the firmware version in the web configuration tool. To update:

  1. Connect the controller to your computer.
  2. Download the latest release hex file.
  3. Download Teensy Loader, open the hex file with it and make sure Auto is enabled.
  4. Push down (no need to hold) the small white button inside the controller, next to the orange LED. A toothpick works well here – don't use anything metal.
  5. The LED will turn off momentarily and Teensy Loader will display a brief message. That's it!

Ableton Live Remote Script

This is fairly specific to my own workflow but included as a basis for customization. The script only maps the buttons, leaving the knobs to be assigned using standard MIDI mapping.

How to install remote scripts.
