Drastically increased calendar modifications/deletions since 0.9.0 (possibly 0.9.5) #315

Since upgrading to 0.9.6, I've been having a lot of trouble with ludicrous amounts (~150 deletions) of calendar deletions on most syncs, even though I've made a minimum of changes to my actual agenda files.

I know I did not have this problem with 0.9.0, and I've tried to install the apk of 0.9.5 from http://matburt.net/files/MobileOrg/, but it just crashes on startup on my phone (Galaxy Nexus with jelly bean). The version that was recently released through Play Store installed and ran fine, however.

Yes, the calendar will delete and insert all entries of a modified file. At some point this will be solved correctly. Currently you can work around it by only synching to a local calendar or separating your appointments from your todos.

I'm closing this issue, as it seems to be a duplicate of your 235 issue.

I guess so. However, it's gotten a lot worse with the recent upgrade. Also, I can't find a way to have a local calendar with the default google calendar app, am I missing something or do I need a third-party app for that?

Edit: very happy to hear your're working on this, though!

Yes, you are right, there is one changed that causes all the files to sync. It's patched already, so that it works like it used to (don't know when it will be released).

You can select a calendar not to sync with the official calendar app, making it essentially "local".

Btw, I have made first steps on implementing better synchronization with google calendar. I don't want to promise too much, but we might get 2-way sync out of it :)

I noticed that I could disable syncing of certain calendars in the official app, however that also causes their entries to not show up in my calendar at all. The closest thing I could manage was to disable calendar sync for my whole account, but that has other disadvantages. Was this what you were referring to?

Great! I'm looking forward to this!

Perhaps I was thinking of a 3rd party app.
