When running source bootstrap.sh got an error bootstrap.sh:9: = not found.

However, running sh bootstrap.sh ran ok.

Any ideas what's going on here?

You are running it inside bash?

Yes, well I guess so (I'm running it in iTerm2).

Can you run ps -p $$ and paste there result?

  PID TTY TIME CMD
63858 ttys002 0:00.17 -zsh

Ah, so I'm using zsh and not bash on this machine? What's the other info?

Yes, this is why you can't simply source bootsrap.sh, when you run it with sh command it reads first line of file that says run it inside bash and this is why everything goes well.
