Didn't realize this was on github when I asked via twitter, but could the Java Applet explanation go near the top of the test page? Especially now that Firefox is blocking native extensions, the applet prompt may scare away users that would otherwise run the tests.

We should just remove the applet. It's use is no longer needed.
